In Austin
Kathy Dunn Hamrick, Artistic Director, and Kate Warren, Artistic Advisor, are the founders of Hamrick/Warren, a professional
modern dance school, located at Café Dance, 3307-B Hancock
Drive in Central Austin. Here, dancers are trained in the
company’s
technique and style. Dance company members take class alongside
other professional and non-professional members of the community.
Kathy’s
movement style is influenced by Limon and Lewitzky. Her classes
are fast-paced, quirky and athletic, with momentum
based floor work and rhythmic foot patterns.
Kate teaches concept classes loosely based on Cunningham technique.
She brings over twenty years of professional dancing to her teaching
and emphasizes musicality, clarity, flow, dynamics and alignment.
