Creativity Workshops are designed for teens living at the Settlement Home who want to participate in the creative process, attend a professional dance performance and produce an informal culminating showing. Our vision is to help each student integrate art into his or her daily life, to take the lessons learned in a creative environment and translate them into a more positive way of life. While tapping into the creative process, Outreach Director Barbara Jo Stetzelberger, LCSW, DTR, helps students identify and safely express their thoughts and feelings. Students also learn the importance of the arts for the maintenance of a safe and culturally diverse society. Through this program, we hope to effect profound and long-term changes in perceptions, attitudes and actions.
