Outreach

Want dance at your school? We deliver.

“I’ve never seen the students so engaged!”
“You have given these kids an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives.”
“This performance is what the kids will be talking about at dinner tonight.”

Since 1999, Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company has served over 13,000 students by conducting dance education assemblies for elementary and middle schools, teaching dance residencies for high school and university dance departments, performing, donating tickets to our dance events, and directing Move It!, a dance/movement therapy program for at-risk youth.

Helping at-risk adolescents move through Life’s challenges.

Move It! is directed by Barbara Jo Stetzelberger, LCSW, BC-DTR, an award-winning Board Certified Dance Movement Therapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in the use of movement, dance, and somatic psychology to help individuals access their natural capacity for healing.

Move It! provides life-changing experiences of creativity, self-worth, and relationship-building. Using dance and movement, students experience physical and emotional safety and confidence in their bodies. They develop greater resilience and create community while making meaningful personal connections with peers and adults.

Classes, half-day workshops, full-day workshops, culminating showings.

Our dance presentations are designed to engage students and get them moving and thinking in a fun, fast-paced environment. Students participate in Creative Movement Classes where they move bravely through space, learn basic elements of dance, work safely with others, problem-solve and experience personal success. These presentations can include a brief, informal performance by members of our dance company.
